I helped my friend pick out a new glucose monitor today. We woke up really early so we could get that out of the way and move on to the bookstore! We spent the rest of the day there. It was so nice. It was raining outside today and there weren't very many people. We got one of those comfortable couches. That was something new they added. I can't remember the last time I was there. I definitely know there wasn't a big red couch to sink into last time! I picked up several art books and she went to the downstairs levels to pick out a few music tapes. While I was looking for my books I also ran across a few health-related books that I thought my friend might be interested in reading. Also, they were selling the best sugar-free lemon cake there. I surprised her with a slice because I knew we would both enjoy it. They gave us two forks and the whole thing lasted about 5 seconds. I was joking with her that I think the health books balanced out the slice of cake which gave her a good laugh. We're going to do the same thing next week except we won't have to swing by her doctor's office.
