Since it was tax season, I had to work every Saturday for a few months. This was a new job and I was never away from my son on the weekends before. I knew this would be a good opportunity for my son and my husband to spend some quality time together, with no Mom to spoil the guy’s fun. I offered my suggestions on where to go and gave them my thoughts as to what would be interesting for them to do. They just laughed and said they would manage just fine without me. It really didn’t do much for my ego to hear that. I went to work that first Saturday thinking that my family would probably go to the library and get some good books to read, then take a nice walk to get some exercise, maybe throw around a football or play basketball on our driveway where we recently set up a basketball net. When I finally returned home after work, I heard laughter coming from our family room. When I went downstairs to check on my fellows, I noticed they were sitting in front of a new gaming computer playing games! They were both having so much fun. It was good to see a smile on both their faces.
